Andrew is one of a set of 29 week twins luckily his brother is doing well and catching up nicely. Andrew was only 1 lb at birth and has had a very rough road. Being on and of the vent for the first 6 months of his life gave him BPD and now the Trachealmalacia. That is what has brought him to get his tracheostomy. His is on the vent at night and cpap by day and the trach has really done a lot for him and he finally doesn't have to use all of his energy to breath and he can grow! I would like to talk with any other parents of trach kids.
