Jaden Adam Anderson Creary
Jaden Adam Anderson Creary was born on January 16, 2002, at 24 weeks and weighing 1lb. 4oz. He initially was diagnosed with the usual complications of prematurity, such as ROP, PDA, Umbilical hernia and reflux. From the very beginning, we knew that Jaden was a fighter. Jaden developed subglottic stenosis and had a tracheostomy done after he was a month old. He spent a total of 4 months in the NICU and finally came home weighing 5lbs. 10oz. There were many adjustments and sacrifices that had to be made when he came home, it was very challenging, but we knew we had to do whatever necessary to ensure Jaden's health and happiness. After a few months at home, and maintaining all his doctors appointments, most of his complications were resolved. The tracheostomy tube remained and he received physiotherapy to help with his motor delays. Amazingly, he didn't develop an further complications, he was perfectly healthy. He was an intelligent, very aware, happy little boy, who could make even the most miserable person laugh. My mother called him "an old soul". He always concentrated with such intensity, always focused, and so stubborn! But that was what we adored about him and we knew our lives were blessed by his presence and we were honored to be chosen as his parents. But sadly, just weeks after his second birthday, Jaden passed away and became our Guardian Angel on February
20, 2004. We are still trying to come to terms with his death as it all happened so suddenly, as quickly as he entered our
lives , as quickly he departed. But his happiness, smile, determination and all the wonderful memories will forever be in our hearts.
