Robbie Cogley

Hello my name is Sarah and I have a son called Robbie who is nearly five years old. Robbie is six of seven children and when he was born we were told he had Down's Syndrome. He has always had noisy breathing and at three months old was admitted to hospital. After numerous tests / ventilation we were told that Robbie has severe tracheo-broncho-malacia, oops! He went to Great Ormand Street Children's Hospital, which is the top children's hospital in the country. Whilst doing the operation complications occurred and his laryngeal nerve was trapped and Robbie has vocal chord paralysis, three weeks later it was necessary for Robbie to have his trach and we haven't looked back since. Unfortunately Robbie now requires CPAP overnight, but manages to cope with this and still leads a normal family life keeping his two sisters and four brothers on their toes.
