This is Payne Thompson, Payne has Laryngeal Atresia. He has had many surgeries on his airway and his voice. So he can speak, (He loves to talk on the phone). Payne was decannulated when he was 6 years old. When he was 8 years old, he had to be retrached, because he grew, but his airway didn't. I have pushed Payne to be as normal as his trach would let him. Now at the age of 9 years old. He can swim and do things most boys his age can do. Payne and I (Lori) would like to meet other children and parents with the same condition Payne has.
