Gabriel F. Lacombe

Gabriel F. Lacombe was born on February 27, 2001 in Omaha, NE. He was born 3 1/2 months prematurely, weighing 1 lb./11 Oz. He was in the NICU for the first 4 months of his life, and had several surgeries before he was discharged late June 2001. We had him home for 10 days, and during the move to our new home, Gabe began to require more oxygen. So, we rushed him to the Children's Hospital E.R. and he coded within 10 minutes of our arrival. Since then, Gabe has a tracheostomy, and is on the ventilator with pressure support. He's had his battles with pneumonia and croup, but is making excellent progress. As parents, all we can do is keep the faith and never lose hope in our little angel.
